You are invited to Level 4 — also known as the Frog Games — of the Gyrosoft All-Weather Simulator. This level will start today, Nov 19, and continue over the next ~ month as a series of Olympics-inspired challenges.

The goal of the Frog Games: Sybil resistance.

As a refresher, Sybil resistance tries to prevent a single person from creating multiple digital representations. This can become a problem, whenever digital representations are granted certain rights (e.g. voting rights).

With introducing the testnet game, Gyroscope has been building a broad community base. This is evident in the turnout of the most recent level 3, which was a big success with the DAO currently counting 6.9k addresses. One of the core goals of Gyroscope’s testnet game and the protocol at large is to build a robust decentralized community.

However, crypto projects are generally subject to Sybil attacks and particularly so in testnets, which can easily be spammed. As such, Sybil protection is critical in ensuring that the Gyroscope DAO evolves equitably and robustly. This is important to get right from the very beginning.

The rules of the game

Level 4 will pose a series of challenges that can be easily solved by humans but are difficult for bots. With every successfully passed challenge it is thus a bit more certain that the respective address is controlled by a single human and not a bot.

For each challenge passed, players will gain ‘sybil points’. At the end of the game, each player needs enough Sybil points to pass. There is no way to tell in advance how many challenges you must complete or how many points are awarded per challenge.

Importantly, different challenges may grant different amounts of Sybil points. Players may decide to not participate in a given challenge, but should be wary of the fact that the safest way to pass Level 4 is to pass as many challenges as possible.

Multiple challenges will be launched over the next coming weeks. This will give players sufficient opportunity to participate and make trade-offs between gaining as many Sybil points as possible and their wish to not disclose certain information. So there is no need to pass every single challenge.

Accept the Frog Games invitation

You may also opt to tweet the invitation card (see above) with the following text to accept the Frog Games invitation and share the fun:“Not a bot, but a player in @GyroStable’s Frog Games.”

Challenge I

The first challenge is for veterans of the crypto space — if you attended one of the large, in-person Ethereum events and collected a respective proof of attendance protocol (POAP), you can sign a message, state your wallet and collect your very first Sybil points.

Instructions for Challenge I

Do you own a POAP from a DevCon, EthCC or any comparable in-person event? We took a snapshot of POAP holders and included the following other events: DAppCon2019, ETHBerlinZWEI, ETHNewYork, ETHWaterloo2019.If you are think you may be eligible, connect your wallet at MyCrypto.com (avoid Coinbase Wallet, which seems to be buggy) and:

  1. Paste the Kovan address you used in the testnet in the message field

  2. Use the address that owns the POAP to sign the message and authenticate your ownership

3. Copy the signed message and paste it in the respective field of the game UI

Bonus Challenge: Community Q&A attendee

Did you participate in the last Community Q&A session on Twitter Spaces? If so, you received a brief DM on Twitter from the official Twitter account. In order to make the most of this bonus level reply to the DM from @GyroStable with your Kovan address you used in the testnet game.

Important: please note that this is the one and only time you will ever receive a DM from the Gyroscope account! Random DMs are likely scams and should be ignored. Always verify that the account is indeed the correct account and not a spoof!

In case you attended the Twitter Space but didn’t receive a DM, you had your DMs disabled.

Good luck! Let the Frog Games commence!
