Users can increase their score in Challenge VIII by doing any or all of the following: (1) confirm their control over a whitelisted address, (2) claim Sybil points for contributing to moderation, education or translation, or (3) proof that they passed a KYC process.

• (1) A total of almost 100k accounts from early and particularly active DeFi users have been whitelisted. The list is static, i.e., a snapshot, and includes LOBS airdrop recipients, WRITE holders, Eth 2.0 stakers, and early Compound LPs.

• (2) Community contributors may claim Sybil points by logging-in via Discord. A snapshot was taken of Discord members that offered substantial help or actively contributed to moderation, education or translation may claim Sybil points. This list is static.

• (3) Conducting a KYC offers every user a continuously available, last option to gain Sybil points. The KYC and indirect KYC are ‘forward-looking’ and allows people to take action to get verified.

  tart a KYC process with Goldfinch and Persona.

   

  It uses infrastructure by Goldfinch and Persona to check that users have a valid identity and are not a duplicate. Importantly, no personally identifiable data is stored on-chain.

• (3b) You may also use your Coinbase account to gain Sybil points. This is the case as Coinbase conducts a Know-your-customer process as part of their sign-up. As such, the confirmation of owning an account is an indirect confirmation of having already passed a KYC process. Please note that no sensitive information will be accessed or stored.

• Challenge V whitelists participants of the Twitter AMA who now receive an additional Sybil point in Challenge V.

• Challenge VII allows users to verify their ownership of various social accounts. To broaden the scope,

  . Adding additional gaming accounts was, unfortunately, not possible.

The different Sybil challenges offer users multiple ways to prove that they are indeed a unique person. However, their explanatory power differs. Having a 2 year old Twitter account with 20 followers does not give the same assurance as passing a KYC process.

To account for differences between various Sybil challenges, the next step is to open a discussion on how to weigh the challenges. Suggestions will be provided, but the discussion will happen in a transparent and inclusive manner. More information will be provided.

The first piece of the Gyroscope codebase has been audited by Trail of Bits. The audit report will soon be hosted in the Gyroscope repo. Over the coming weeks additional audits will be carried out to cover the remaining parts of the codebase and ensure that eventual change requests are safely implemented. Once completed, the Gyro DAO will be able to launch Gyro V1.

In the meantime, new Gyro contracts will be added to the testnet to further ensure that everything works as intended. This will be similar to the early testnet levels. New Gyro AMM contracts will also be deployed on mainnet for limited test-in-production next week.
